Polytechnics say demand surging ahead of new academic year
Some polytechnics are reporting a surge in enrolments as the academic year begins. They say demand is especially high in trades courses where the government has waived fees to encourage more students. Figures shared with RNZ indicate some institutes are already approaching the maximum number of students the Tertiary Education Commission has agreed to fund this year.
