Papatoetoe High closes after positive cases, parents worried

Three people have now tested positive for Covid-19 since Auckland dropped down the alert levels to level one. Last night, the Ministry of Health announced two siblings of the Papatoetoe High School student who tested positive earlier in the day also returned positive tests. The siblings are a baby and a teenager. The teen has been working in Kmart in Botany and was at work on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th between 4 and 10pm. Anyone who was in the shop during these times is now considered a casual-plus contact. Thirty-one staff at Kmart have already been identified as close contacts and are isolating. The parents and a third older sibling have returned negative tests, but the whole family has been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility. A day and a half after being allowed to reopen, Papatoetoe High School is back on high alert after yesterday's news. Parents were anxiously waiting outside as they sought updates.
