New Zealand's Myanmar community is calling for the Government to condemn the actions of Myanmar's military, which has detained leader Aung San Suu Kyi and seized power of the country. The leader of the coup overnight attempted to justify their response, saying November's election - in which Suu Kyi won in a landslide - had been unfair. For the past three days, people have been protesting in cities right across Myanmar against the coup, and tonight a rally will be held at New Zealand's Parliament. Christalin Thangpawl is the Chairperson of the Myanmar Ethnics Council and she spoke to Emma Hatton.
