We've heard about a trans-tasman bubble but what about a cruise ship bubble? The union representing ships' captains and officers has come up with the idea and wants to see it go ahead this year. It comes after a cruise ship was turned away from New Zealand waters last week after Immigration denied 61 of its 90 crew members Entry Visas. The government said the Le Laperouse ship and its crew, who were due to travel around New Zealand and Antarctica, could not be considered essential workers. Captain Ian Mcleod Vice President of the Merchant Service Guild told our reporter Louise Ternouth how the concept came about.
