Light plane crash kills pilot in Central Otago
A body has been found in the wreckage of a light plane that went missing in Central Otago last night. The Cessna 172 was flying between Bannockburn and Gore when an emergency beacon was activated around 5.05pm on Wednesday. A search and rescue operation was launched, and the aircraft was found around 4am on Thursday on Old Man Range near Alexandra.
