Lead levels four times acceptable amount in Waikouaiti, Karitane drinking water
Residents in two coastal towns near Dunedin are being warned not to drink their tap water due to lead contamination. The water in Waikouaiti and Karitane is not fit to drink, cook or prepare food with until further notice. In the meantime water tankers are on the way.
