The police have announced they're examining their internal policies around photographing people under 17.  Late last month RNZ exposed complaints police were stopping rangatahi on the street in Wairarapa and illegally taking their photos - with one reporting he was threatened with being 'taken down to the station' if he didn't agree to it. Police later confirmed three young people were photographed illegally - all Māori, but today Assistant Commissioner Scott Fraser told Morning Report the officers involved acted 'with the best intentions'. The Independent Police Conduct Authority and the Privacy Commissioner have also announced a joint investigation into this. Māni Dunlop speaks to lawyer Kingi Snelgar.
