Victims of bullying in the police are calling for the Police Commissioner to get rid of those to blame for toxic culture where bullying is rife. A report by the Independent Police Conduct Authority says there needs to urgent change to the autocratic management style that fosters the bad behaviour. It came after a two year RNZ investigation in which almost 200 current and former sworn and non sworn police staff spoke about the bullying culture. RNZ police reporter Ben Strang broke the story in 2019.
