International law expert on MFAT dealings with Saudi Arabia

A professor of international law says foreign ministry officials may have breached their human rights obligations when they granted permits for weapons exports to Saudi Arabia. Documents obtained by RNZ show a New Zealand exporter sent military training equipment, computers, radios and binoculars to Saudi forces in 2016 and 2018. Waikato Unviersity's Al Gillespie told reporter Mackenzie Smith it's a bad look for New Zealand.
