Former President Donald Trump has been found not guilty of inciting an insurrection, bringing the shortest impeachment trial in American history to an abrupt close. Seven Republican senators crossed party lines to join all 50 Democrats in voting against the former president, but they fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to secure a conviction.
