Destruction at archaeological site 'ignorant and misinformed'
Archaeologists, historians and iwi authorities have been disturbed at news someone has illegally helped themself to an archaeological site, destructively digging as much as a 1.5 metres through an early site used by Maori. Jane MacKnight, of Heritage New Zealand/ Pouhere Taonga told Morning Report about the damage.
