Covid-19: Trucks spend hours in traffic at checkpoints

Truck drivers are being left waiting for hours in "dedicated" truck lanes at Auckland border checkpoints. The lanes have been designed to let through freight companies, but queues stretched back more than five kilometres south of the city. Lines were so long the trucks merged with cars - rendering the truck lanes pointless. Managing director of trucking business Carr-Haslam Limited Chris Carr says on Monday drivers were left waiting for three hours , and the cost of waiting will fall heavilly on trucking companies. Carr spoke to Susie Ferguson.
