There is one new case of Covid-19 at the border - an airline crew member who had returned to New Zealand from Japan on 28 February. More information about the new positive case at the border is expected on Monday. The airline crew member who returned to New Zealand is now in quarantine after returning a positive test result yesterday. They were swabbed on Saturday as part of routine surveillance testing. Currently the Countdown supermarket near Auckland Airport is the only location of interest and it has been deep-cleaned overnight. Anyone who was there between midday and 1.30pm last Wednesday should closely monitor their health and, if unwell, get tested. Reporter Katie Todd asked microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles for her reaction.
