Covid-19: Napier Art Deco Festival cancelled

The Napier Art Deco Festival has been cancelled due to the latest Covid-19 scare. Organisers made the call last night to give certainty to the hundreds of entertainers, artists and venues - as well as the thousands who'd booked accommodation. It's the first time the festival has ever been cancelled. It's the region's largest event, attracting around 40,000 visitors each year - many of them from Auckland and Wellington. But under Alert Level 2 restrictions gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited and social distancing of two metres is required Art Deco Trust chair Barbara Arnott spoke to Susie Ferguson.
