Child poverty measures show little impact
Before covid-19 hit, Stats NZ says progress was being made to reduce child poverty, with improvements across the nine different measures compared to two years ago. However, the official figures out this morning show little annual change when it comes to income measures - but there is good news when it comes to material hardship. Māni Dunlop spoke to RNZ's social issues reporter, Sarah Robson, who's been looking at the statistics.
