Bloomfield, Robertson lobbied by NZ Cricket for vaccine priority

It has been revealed the Director-General of Health was lobbied by cricket bosses for priority access to the Covid-19 vaccine for its players, all while Dr Bloomfield was an invited guest, hosted by NZ cricket at Sunday's match in Wellington. NZ Cricket also had the ear of Sports Minister Grant Robertson who they were hosting too. The organisation wants the Black Caps vaccinated ahead of their trip to England in June, sparking debate about who should get priority ahead of the government unveiling its vaccination rankings on Wednesday. Dr Bloomfield says he was at the cricket in a private capacity, but gave a commitment to NZ cricket to look into the issue. Chen Liu reports.
