Australia-NZ diplomatic incident over NZ citizen suspected of terrorism detained in Turkey

Trans-tasman relations have taken a dramatic turn for the worse with Australia dumping responsibility for a woman suspected of terrorism, and her two young children, onto New Zealand. The three were detained at the Turkish border after trying to enter illegally from Syria - the woman's described by Turkish authorities as an Islamic State terrorist. The ABC has named her as 26-year-old Suhayra Aden. She had dual New Zealand and Australian citizenship, but left for Australia when she was six and travelled to Syria from Australia on an Australian passport. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern raised the matter with her Australian counterpart Scott Morrison and asked that they work together to resolve it. However, Australia has since stripped the woman of citizenship. Ardern was clearly livid when addressing media, but Morrison is far from apologetic. The pair were scheduled to discuss the matter last night. Political Editor Jane Patterson spoke to Corin Dann.
