McAllen ISD Superintendent discusses the district's recent awards

MCALLEN, RGV - For the second straight year, McAllen ISD has earned an \\u201cA\\u201d from the state of Texas - the highest grade possible.

McAllen ISD also earned the state\\u2019s Postsecondary Readiness Distinction for the third straight year. The District performed \\u201cexceptionally well\\u201d according to txschools.gov.

And, for 16th time in the last 17 years, preliminary reports indicate McAllen ISD has received the state\\u2019s highest mark in the School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas).

\\u201cThis result is the culmination of years of hard work,\\u201d said McAllen ISD Superintendent J.A. Gonzalez. \\u201cAll our teachers, administrators, students, staff and parents have contributed to this outstanding achievement. We also appreciate the leadership of our board of trustees. We should all be proud.\\u201d
