Hastings gives update on state of economy at STC's INNO 2020 Conference

MCALLEN, Texas - According to a senior vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Blake Hastings, the average person graduating from South Texas College today will have his job disrupted five or six times, due to technology changes.\\xa0

Hastings gave some updates on the economy at the national, state, and regional levels during a presentation at the virtual South Texas College INNO 2020. He said the Federal Reserve Bank is hopeful the lame duck Congress will pass an economic stimulus bill.

South Texas College partnered with La Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas to host a binational INNO 2020 Conference. INNO stands for innovation.

Hastings has made a presentation on the state of the economy in each of the last four innovation conferences hosted by STC. During his presentation, Hastings applauded the work of Dr. Shirley A. Reed, who is set to retire as STC\\u2019s founding president.\\xa0
