MISSION, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Partnership recently held and event titled \\u201c87th Legislative Session Wrap-Up - Impact to the Business Community.\\u201d

The event was held at the Mission Event Center and featured presentations from two Valley VIPs and two experts on legislative affairs from Austin.\\xa0

The two Valley VIPs were state Rep. Terry Canales of Edinburg, and Veronica Gonzales, senior vice president for government and community relations at UT-Rio Grande Valley.\\xa0

The two experts from Austin were Glenn Hamer, president and CEO of the Texas Association of Business, and Lee Parsley, general counsel for Texans for Lawsuit Reform.\\xa0

Parsley has worked with TLR since 2002, and now serves as its general counsel. According to TLR, Parsley leads a team of attorneys who help identify and research solutions to the challenges facing Texas\\u2019 legal system.\\xa0

\\u201cLee\\u2019s background in civil and appellate law has given him firsthand experience in navigating Texas\\u2019 courts. His experience in the legislative process helps TLR engage with lawmakers and stakeholders to ensure Texas is passing principled laws for a fair and efficient legal system,\\u201d TLR states.
