BROWNSVILLE, Texas - Dr. Laura Cisneros, MD, is running for the open Congressional District 34 seat in the Democratic Party primary.

The seat is open because U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Brownsville, the incumbent, is retiring at the next election.\\xa0

Cisneros, who has a medical practice in Brownsville, has chosen, \\u201cIt\\u2019s Time for Change\\u201d as her campaign slogan.

She sat down with Steve Taylor, editor of the Rio Grande Guardian, to discuss her platform. Here is Part One of the interview.
