EDINBURG, Texas - South Texas Health System Edinburg has officially opened the first two floors of its brand new $100-plus million patient tower.

The hospital\\u2019s expansion project is now home to an expanded ER, upgraded Radiology Department and enhanced ICU.

Last Friday, August 5, STHS Edinburg held the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new patient tower.\\xa0

In an interview, Lance Ames, CEO of STHS Edinburg, said the patient tower will house and additional 59 beds for adult patients with another 55 beds set aside for future needs.

Ames said the patient tower is part of South Texas Health System's mission to provide quality, compassionate care to the people of the Rio Grande Valley.\\xa0
