“The reality is, the average person is thinking of trafficking like something out of the movie, Taken, where you have a clearly innocent victim and these gun-wielding mobsters. … In reality, trafficking is really [not that clear].” — Kimberly Mehlman-Orozco

“I really think that … instead of pointing fingers and putting the blame on various parties, it’s a collaborative effort. We actually do need to learn a lot more on how to … combat this issue [of human trafficking].” — Kimberly Mehlman-Orozco

“I want to help organizations and businesses protect victims of trafficking and prevent these crimes from happening … and facilitate the prosecution of offenders. Those are the goals of the TVPRA [Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act].” — Kimberly Mehlman-Orozco

“It’s really important to continually educate, evaluate, [and ask], ‘Are my employees retaining this information?’ … When you do see something, and … report it to law enforcement, keep a log of the efforts … to ensure that … your premises are safe.” — Kimberly Mehlman-Orozco
