Will this be remembered as this week when Donald Trump ceased to hold center stage in American politics, and attention really began to shift to Joe Biden? The Hunter Biden corruption story grew new legs when Hunter Biden himself revealed that federal authorities were probing his taxes, including looking into alleged money-laundering and a gift of a 3-carat diamond ring from a state-backed Chinese energy company. Also this week, the federal deficit hit a record high for the first 2 months of the fiscal year -the result of lower tax revenues and higher spending - both due to the corona virus outbreak. Now that their party is exiting the White House, the GOP may be regaining a bit of that old time Republican religion, opposing new legislation because of its cost. What does it mean for Biden and his ambitious spending programs? Tom Bevan, co-founder and president of RealClearPolitics, Carl Cannon RCP Washington Bureau Chief, and Jim Glassman, former undersecretary of state for public diplomacy under George W. Bush and chairman of Glassman Enterprises, talk with host Andrew Walworth on today's RealClearPolitics Takeaway podcast.
