This tournament was the last to not include any MLS teams and the final rounds pitted teams from three different levels of the USL - Richmond Kickers, an amateur from division 3 faced off against the El Paso Patriots, professionals from division 2 and the game could not be decided after a 120 minutes of soccer in searing 90 degree plus temperatures under the Texas sun.
