Keith was the first Muslim to be elected to Congress and to serve as an Attorney General as well as the first African American representative from Minnesota.
Earlier this year Keith successfully prosecuted Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who was convicted of murdering George Floyd, a case which sparked a renewed battle against racial injustice.
