Dirty tactics and accusations of racism: after months of increasingly strident argument, this might have been the week that debate about the Voice referendum officially got nasty.\\xa0

On Tuesday, our reporter Paul Sakkal published a story about the deceptive tactics of the No campaign - Its volunteers are instructed to ring voters and sow misinformation, by telling them the Voice might be used to push for financial reparations.\\xa0

Then it was reported that Indigenous leader Marcia Langton told a forum in WA that the arguments of the No case were grounded in \\u201cbase racism\\u201d or \\u201csheer stupidity\\u201d - comments she later said were misreported.
