Dene Gainey Journey to the "Y" In You

Published: Feb. 15, 2019, 2 p.m.

b'Hello, and welcome to Episode 77 of the Planning Period Podcast, your #EdBreakroom. I\'m your host, Brad Shreffler.
This week on the show I am joined by teacher, author, and friend Dene Gainey. Dene and I know each other from various Edcamps in our area and from our local #coffeeedu group. He never fails to be uplifting and fun, so I knew he\'d make an awesome guest, and we were finally able to line-up this interview.
Dene and I talk about the importance of reaching kids, not just teaching kids, teaching in Tanzania, the lack of acceptance of life long learning, his belief that something in your classroom can\'t fail, the need for all teachers to think outside of the box for the purpose of teaching more than you would otherwise, and how a great teacher can be firm and kind.
So, sit back and enjoy Episode 77 of the Planning Period Podcast, my interview with Dene Gainey.
