Targeting the US embassy in the Green Zone
On Monday evening, Katyusha rockets targeted the vicinity of the US embassy in the Green Zone in Baghdad.
An explosion was heard in the area. Iraqi media confirmed that smoke rose from inside the US embassy, which is located in the Green Zone, confirming that it was exposed to Katyusha rockets.
After the attack, warning sirens sounded inside the "third al-Tawhid base" of the US embassy, with helicopters flying overhead.
