b'A grand jury indicted appellant Chance Adams for first-degree murder while committing aggravated robbery and several other felonies. During voir dire, respondent the State of Minnesota used a peremptory challenge to strike Juror 9, who was African-American. Adams raised a Batson challenge to this strike, arguing the State had removed Juror 9 because of her race. The district court denied the challenge.
