The True Meaning of Happiness

Despite what marketers would have you believe, happiness will never come from a purchase, an investment, or a new methodology. We’ve been led to believe that happiness is “out there,” that it can be reached or achieved.

But research shows, believe it or not, that most people are happiest at work. Why? Because we experience happiness when we’re in pursuit. Happiness is in creating. It’s in striving. Happiness is a journey, a way of living and being, not a destination to be reached.

In today’s episode, we’ll learn why we grow disillusioned with the good things we already have in our lives. We’ll discuss “positive anticipatory dissatisfaction,” and why it’s the key to staying on the happiness path.

You can put yourself on the happiness path right now. It begins with taking responsibility for yourself in the present moment. No matter how negative your current state, you have the power to shift your state toward happiness.
