On Values, Boundaries & Emotions

Published: March 14, 2019, 5 a.m.

Why is your friend triggered by one thing and you something else? A difference of values.

What makes you call someone out? Your values.

Why do you get that how-can-I-look-myself-in-the-mirror feeling when you choose to not make a scene when someone has crossed a line? Again, values.

Our values are mostly unconscious. They drive our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and our actions. Want to know what your values are? Look at how you live your life.

Many values were programmed or conditioned into us, and perhaps they served a function at one time but no longer serve us. For personal discovery and growth, it’s important to identify what our values are and change the ones that no longer serve us. Like all change work, this takes time. But it’s so worth it. You are worth it.

In today’s episode, you’ll learn how to identify your values, discover which ones serve you, and how to create new ones.
