The ultimate silent treatment are elements of covert narcissism.  When narcissists choose to engage in tactics that are designed to control others, he or she is also attempting to silence others with shame, guilt and perhaps embarrassment.  Narcissistic personality types are often unconsciously attempting to project their feelings of shame, guilt and embarrassment onto others around them.  As a result, the narcissist might feel some sense of security and justification in pulling harmful tactics in order to obtain source supply while keeping them silent about narcissistic abuse.  Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more episodes!
