After the relationship is over one can sometimes be challenged with feelings of lonliness and a desire for validation and closure.  When things are left said and undone this can leave the door open for an ex to return only to offer more drama and foolishness, instead of commitment.  The dark seduction of the discard has the potential to have one caught up in a third party situation, unwarranted obsession and the harsh reality that at the end of the day finding closure after a relationship is over is for a party of one.
