Our friend and frequent guest Steve Hedley was recently suspended from his position as the senior assistant general secretary of the UK’s Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers Union after making a joke on his Facebook page about Boris Johnson contracting the coronavirus. He was predictably attacked by Britain’s right-wing media, and when he didn’t apologize for the joke, the attacks became more severe and sustained.
