Hi there, I\\u2019m Jack and welcome back to Lithuanian Out Loud.\\xa0 Today I\\u2019m cleaning out my computer.\\xa0 I found an episode that Raminta and I recorded months ago but never got around to putting it out on the internet.\\xa0 It\\u2019s not a significant lesson \\u2013 it\\u2019s just for fun but I thought I\\u2019d put it out there just as a bonus lesson for you.\\xa0 Now, I apologize, the audio quality isn\\u2019t perfect, it\\u2019s got a little bit of a hiss in the background but you should be able to understand it just fine.\\xa0 Enjoy!

Hi everybody, this is Jack, and I\\u2019m Raminta and you\\u2019re listening to Lithuanian Out Loud!\\xa0 The world\\u2019s only, the world\\u2019s first\\u2026the first, the only one\\u2026Lithuanian language lessons in a podcast series!\\xa0

One day a few years ago, my wife Raminta and I were visiting a family in Klaip\\u0117da.\\xa0 Klaip\\u0117da is a port city on the west coast of Lithuania.\\xa0 At one point Raminta was playing with some children and I heard her say the phrase, tuoj pat a couple of times.\\xa0 So I asked her, hey honey, what does tuoj pat mean?\\xa0 She brushed me off and said, wait a minute.\\xa0 I figured, okay, no problem, she\\u2019s just busy.\\xa0 So, I waited about five or ten minutes and I was getting tired of waiting so I asked her again, what does tuoj pat mean?\\xa0 She gave me a funny look and said a little more sternly, wait a minute.\\xa0 Hm!\\xa0 Now I wasn\\u2019t happy!\\xa0 Why the heck is she putting me off and ignoring me???\\xa0 But, we were with friends and I didn\\u2019t want to show I was irritated so I just said to myself, okay, and decided to wait a bit longer.\\xa0 Half an hour later I was finally tired of waiting and being ignored.\\xa0 So, I gently took her hand, and made her look at me so I could get her complete attention.\\xa0 I said, Raminta, please tell me, I really want to know, what does tuoj pat mean???\\xa0 She gave me a confused look and said, Jack, tuoj pat means, wait a minute.

Hey guess what?\\xa0 We\\u2019re going drinking with some buddies again!\\xa0 Woohoo!\\xa0 We seem to do a lot of these episodes, funny that, but it\\u2019s perfectly appropriate because we\\u2019re sitting here having a nice glass of what?\\xa0\\xa0 Wine, wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, we\\u2019re having a good time\\u2026so, let\\u2019s start off with the phrase\\u2026
