b'Today I have the pleasure of speaking with Ron Fugle, Military Veteran and host of the podcast “Fire and Adjust.”

More about Ron:
Ron spent several years in the Military. Upon leaving 14 years ago, he struggled to find a new purpose in life. As is often the case for Veterans, lack of finances prevented the option for college. He decided to return to the automotive industry, however, it did not fill the void of helping others and the need to serve his community.

It was a long process trying to figure out what kind of business he was passionate about. Ron tried his hand at e-Bay and several other projects, but allowed life events to derail his focus. He witnessed people working their whole lives for retirement that didn’t make it to 65, didn’t get to enjoy their lives. Ron decided he didn’t want that for his future. Ron wanted to be involved in a part of something bigger than himself. He felt a passion to assist those leaving the military with their career endeavors. (aside from me – isn’t it amazing the many niches that can become business ventures. Remember, the world is now at your doorstep, thanks to the internet and social media!)

Fire and Adjust is a podcast in which Ron interviews other successful veterans – actors, authors, models – and supports them in their new calling. He feels that highlighting the amazing things Military personnel and Veterans are doing is his way of continuing to serve. Ron hopes to spark an interest in other Veterans who have that entrepreneurial fire.

In order to forge ahead, Ron began to soak in information from every medium; books, magazines, and podcasts became his life. In fact, podcasts took over his life so much so that he listened to them while he slept. He became involved in Mastermind groups to reconcile grief from the past with what his heart wants for his future.
Fire and Adjust is currently a work in progress. Ken feels that sponsors who align with his target audience, such as Veteran owned businesses, would be perfect to bring on. He has a vision of a group of action takers with a Military background being on board with him, and that the podcast project will always be something that is supporting the Military community in one way or another.

Ron explains:
• How stepping out of his comfort zone (click here for Episode 15) was key for growth. He has learned that the things that scare you the most generally have the greatest rewards
• That we need to learn to like being uncomfortable, as that is when we learn
• How numerous life altering events - including the suicides and murders of several family members – made him realize the need to drive ahead as we are not promised tomorrow
• How the “American Dream” seems a bit backward as happiness should trump wealth

Inpirational Quotes
“Drive on.” Ron Fugle has always felt that you have to just drive forward and trust that others have your back. Surround yourself with good people, likeminded people and you will have that safety net.
“To be old and wise you must first be young and stupid.” You only learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of those around you.

Ron Fugle’s book suggestions:

The War of Art – Steven Pressfield

Crush It – Gary Vaynerchuk

Start With Why – Simon Sinek

Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki

Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

Ron’s contact information:
www.fireandadjust.com/contact'
