b'Today I want to start a Breakthrough Success journey with you. (See special aid at the bottom). You can do this at any time of the year, not just New Year\'s; it really doesn’t matter. Why? Because normally people start off the year with a fresh outlook, and looking forward to what they’re going to do, what they’re going to accomplish. Very often these come in the form of New Year’s resolutions. Well, quite frankly, New Year’s resolutions don’t even make it through the third week. 95% of them fail before the third week is over, and those are little, bitty things. “I want to reduce weight.”, “I want to go on a diet.”, “I want to exercise three times a week.” Those are small things. But really, what you want to do is have a new outlook on life of where you’re going and what you’re planning to do.

In order to achieve breakthrough success, a person needs to be motivated to surpass their highest goals. They must drive through the glass ceiling that is their environment.
How are you going to make 2016 something really special? How are you going to breakthrough? What I mean is not just to success, but what I look for is breakthrough success. Now, what do I mean by breakthrough success? It’s actually success that you can’t really even see for yourself.

Think of success as reaching your goal. When most people reach their goal they are satisfied. When satisfied people tend to lose much of their drive and motivation.

Just think of the person or yourself struggling and working hard for some major accomplishment. At this time, most people tend to enjoy their success and lose much of the reason to push themselves to a new level. In fact, they have reached a plateau. (see "How to Ensure Goal Success", to revisit how to drive yourself to your next level or goal.) In exercise, sports or weightlifting, you may have heard of people reaching a plateau, they often think their body needs to adjust. Fortunately for me, I was trained by a champion, Joe won the tri-state, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, heavy weight division. He pushed me right through these plateaus or expected levels I would reach. Those were true breakthroughs, beyond what I expected.

In other words, something that you see as a goal is usually within your reach and you have a normal path to get there. It’s what you think you can do. What I’m talking about is breaking through to the next level or the level after that. Something that you can’t see, but other people can see that you might have that potential, or that if you are to attain your goal, all of a sudden you could possible see: “Wait a minute, I could really shoot much further.” Most people never do that. It has to do with their comfort zone, their family, friends, all kinds of influences around them. It’s what they know, and they’re restricted by what they know, not what they don’t know yet. I’ll explain that in a little more detail. A breakthrough is not just the goal, but it’s also the journey. You’re going to learn, and you’re going to learn about yourself.

For example, I realized and I wanted to go to college, I knew that that was supposed to be an important thing to do and that was supposed to be my ticket to get some good job, etc., when I was younger. I didn’t really even know what economics was about when I started college. I was lucky that because I was in the service, when I came back, the Dean had sat down and set up my whole schedule for me so that when I walked in I could start college and start going. It just so happened that actually I wanted to go into finance at the time. He signed me in to two finance classes, and of course, one of my electives he put was an economics class. I realized what I really like was economics, and that finance was kind of simple. It was really easy, it was fairly straightforward, and didn’t cause me to think a whole lot. To me, that just didn’t seem that interesting.

What does this mean? You end up, as you go through your journey towards any success,'
