b'Craig Whelden spent 30 years in the U.S. Army, then\\xa0seven in\\xa0the private sector, and another nine as a\\xa0Senior Executive\\xa0Service (SES) member with the U.S. Marine Corps. He led Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines at each level from Lieutenant to General\\xa0Officer to Senior Executive while serving 10 years in Europe, and\\xa0another 12 in the Pacific.\\xa0Present at the Pentagon on 9/11, he subsequently led the effort to secure\\xa0the state of Hawaii from terrorist attack, an effort that received national\\xa0recognition. After retiring from the Army in 2003, he chaired a national\\xa0conference, Information Sharing and Homeland Security, for\\xa0three years.\\xa0In 2008, he was asked to organize and run a Secretary of the\\xa0Army\\xa0initiative to bring greater awareness to the American public of the\\xa0sacrifices of servicemembers and their families during a time of war, and\\xa0was recognized by Secretary Pete Geren with the top\\xa0two civilian awards.\\xa0In 2010, he became\\xa0the Executive Director for Marine Corps Forces\\xa0Pacific, overseeing the largest\\xa0multi-billion-dollar program\\xa0since World War II\\xa0to reposition\\xa0Marines\\xa0in the Pacific.\\xa0In October 2019, he transitioned to the next chapter of his life\\xa0becoming a Motivational\\xa0Keynote Speaker on Leadership and Performance Excellence.
