Message over polish. Production over perfection. Artist confess they may agonize for months over perfecting their projects. But if they hacked them together in slapdash fashion, they'd produce tons more work product which could have far more influence on the world.

And the question for propagandists working on a deadline is which behavioral effects we're having on the human being and his thought and behavior, given the technological limitations of mass media.

The choreography of human action begins not with the art, nor the art-making machine, nor the design of the machine-making factory, but the machine that mass produces the men who retake the culture through broadcast media.

To be effective, these men must understand what they're doing and why. Why the limitations themselves can be liberating.

Artists may spend years trying to fix the tool instead of using imperfect tools to create effects on human beings.
