Coach Deggs has overcome the severe adversity of alcohol addiction and losing his coaching job where he was out of coaching for over a year. Through God's redemption and grace, He was given a second chance and led Sam Houston State to a super-regional and record-setting season in 2017. He is now the Head Coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, to carry the torch for his mentor who passed away two years ago. He is building a culture of character and work ethic and is unafraid to share his faith as a foundation for the young men he leads.
