South County Will Soon Have A New Library And Blasting Continues Just East Of Echo Summit

In February, a new south county library will open near Lake of the Pines featuring Open+, an access model for libraries that will give community members the ability to use the library even when staff are not present.
In El Dorado County, CalTrans says that a one-way reversing traffic control remains in place on U.S. Highway 50, just east of Echo Summit. Caltrans crews are blasting and clearing after a rockfall sent large boulders onto the roadway late Tuesday night.
