“Admit it P. You wish I were here. The truth is nasty. Love is trying to run around with my body. I’m naked. I’m not supposed to go outside this room without dressing appropriately. It’s against the law to take off my shirt! I’m sorry; I know you’ve got your priorities. You have this strange tendency to associate law abiding with what’s right. But I’m confused, how can right be right without wrong? It takes murderous hands to remind you of hunger. I’m fucking starving and the love of my life has wiped me off the face of the earth. I’ll take off my shirt if I damn well please!” I jump off the bar stool, holding her gaze. When’s the last time you jumped for no reason. Just jumped up and down.” I’m bouncing. “Look! You’re so embarrassed. Why? You’re thinking of another’s perception of your physical existence. Why! You are not moving on curiosity or desire! You are moving to please me! Why? I need to know why you’ve sacrificed your nature to abide by the walls that I’ve built around my sight. Darling, don’t you know? You can see anything you want to see. You can see me again, if you like. All you have to do is say. I’ll breathe cold air into your face when you flip everything upside down and stand on your head. I’m right here. I wont leave this room until you fall asleep.”
P turns around and stares at all the bottles. “I don’t sleep in strange places.” She doesn’t turn to face me when she says it. She just keeps staring at nothing. “What are you imagining?” She closes her eyes for a blank canvas and starts crying. “I could see myself killing you. There is so much hate in the space between us. When you went away, I decided to throw it all in there. If I never stepped in that direction again I’d never even know that I had left you. Where is this violence coming from! I love you! I don’t want to live without you!” She turns around and shoves a blade between the ribs on my left side. I suck in all the air between our bodies and pull her closer. I wrap my arms around her neck, “you missed. You have shitty aim, you know that?”
“No Sage. I don’t miss. I don’t aim. My target is never in question. I’m always exactly where I am supposed to be. It’s the angle. You’re confused. The pain feels incredible and you’ve learned to balance love beautifully with its opposing force. I hate you. That is why you’re holding on to me for dear life. My love lives inside of you. That’s why you can’t let go. I’m going to pull it out now. Are you ready? We’re leaving soon. I’m done with this fucking bar.”
“How will I know it’s time?”
I look up. The girl reaching down her hand to me is familiar. But I don’t have a name. “Are you bleeding?” I feel my chest and put my fingers to my face.  I’m not concerned. “Shit! She’s bleeding. Who did this?” I’m not supposed to answer this question. I can tell by the look on her face. She doesn’t want to know. I play along. “Mariah Carey.” She glances at me hatefully. “I don’t know. I didn’t get a good look at her before she ran away. She was a pretty young thing. About ye high.” My hand is hovering an inch off the bar floor. It’s sticky. It’d be nice if she’d help me up. But she’s keen on justice and she’s already out for blood, the hunt is building in her eyes. She’s the only wolf left alive in this City and she doesn’t even know what she is capable of wanting. That’s okay, I do.            “What do you want me to do?”
“I want you to lift up my body and take control. I want you to remember what I was sent here for. I want you take what is yours.” She shrugs “I don’t believe in owning things.” I laugh sadistically. “What about bodies? Do bodies count? What would your fingers do if my entire body were at your mercy? Would you heal me? Would you fuck me? Would you try to kill me? How much blood would it take to satisfy the hatred? What sounds would settle the love? Would you make a story of it? Would you write it on my skin?”
“No, bodies don’t count. Your flesh is fare game because you are mine. What are you waiting for?” Her eyes are black and white, rolling back. “Run!”
