Youth Sports Struggles to Keep Umpires/Referees- Verbal Abuse Is A Key Factor
Verbal abuse from parents and some coaches is causing headaches for youth sports associations who are struggling to get and retain officials. There are a variety of other reasons, but Millard United youth sports association general manager Jeff LeDent says they have taken steps to minimize the abuse and take a zero tolerance towards those that are abusive.
