Mayor Wants City, Not Legislature, to Create Landlord Registry
Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert met with Omaha Senator Justin Wayne and Speaker Jim Scheer about a bill that would create a landlord registry and inspections of rental properties in Omaha. The Mayor is in favor of the registry but doesn't want mandatory inspections of every property and wants it done as a city ordinance, not a state law.
