Legal Problems Created by Red Flag Laws
State Senator Adam Morefeld has sponsored LB 58, which would be a red flag law. In general, that law would create a process whereby an individual can have their guns taken away from them if there is a belief that they may pose a threat to themselves or others. As reasonable as that might sound to some, Travis Coutere-Lovelady (Nebraska State Director of the NRA) says red flag laws raise serious questions about infringing someone's constitutional rights, including the right to due process.
