b'The hospital costs of the American medical system are so high that it now makes financial sense for patients -- and their doctors -- to leave the country and meet at a foreign hospital for some types of surgeries. For hundreds of thousands of Americans who seek lower-cost care outside the United States each year, many are going to Caribbean and Central American countries.
