b'As many states begin the process of reopening, security experts are turning their attention to the issue of maintaining the privacy of people who\\u2019ve been infected with the virus, as well as those who they\\u2019ve had contact with. South Korea, Taiwan and Israel are using smartphones to track those infected to better enforce quarantines and ID those in close proximity to the infected person. Russia is using facial recognition to locate those infected and also to enforce social distancing. Thermometer sensors connected to CCTV can test crowds for geographical fever clusters. Medical records could potentially be accessed to gather medical information on infected individuals. Brad says the real question is how much privacy we are willing to sacrifice in the name of staying healthy? And what role will the portions of the population who do not trust the government play in allowing research into the virus to proceed successfully?
