It was nice while it lasted, but those empty Bay Area roads are filling up again pretty quickly as lockdown orders ease and residents begin heading back to work. An awful lot has changed though over the past few months: public transit agencies are now facing major budget challenges as they contend with low ridership, and, meantime, many commuters have gotten quite used to working from home and may just keep on doing so.
