After California passed legislation allowing college athletes to profit off of their name and likeness, sports editor Josh Smith, city editor Allen Etzler and host Greg Swatek throw their support behind the new law on this week’s episode of Just Another Sports Podcast. The guys wonder why it has taken so long for everyone to arrive at what seems like a common-sense solution. They also talk about how other states need to move quickly with their own legislation in order to prevent a mass exodus of marketable college athletes to California. The guys also discuss the Nationals’ wild-card win over the Milwaukee Brewers, the Bill Buckner-esque error committed by Brewers outfielder Trent Grisham. Plus, what happened to the Ravens defense? What is the real motive behind Ray Lewis withdrawing from Dancing with the Stars? And why is Josh betting against his Minnesota Vikings?
